2026 Event Schedule

  • First Sunrise of the Year January 1, around 7:15 — Open Deck
    Watch the sunrise stream over the Mt. Aso direction. If you're lucky, you may also see a magical sea of clouds.
  • New Year Sake Toast January 1, 10:00–13:00 and 14:00–16:00 — 2nd Floor Lobby
    A New Year blessing — a fragrant taru-zake (cask sake) toast to wish you happiness throughout the year.
  • Seven-Herb Rice Porridge January 6 (Tue) and January 7 (Wed) — Grande Sekia
    Breakfast buffet. Enjoy nanakusa-gayu (seven-herb rice porridge) at the buffet to give your stomach a rest after the New Year festivities.
  • Forest Promenade (Path of Light) Through the end of March — illuminated 17:00–22:00
    Bamboo lanterns invite you into a healing space along the natural promenade from dusk into the night.
    *Every Friday, 19:30–20:30, the area is closed to traffic during the fireworks display.

  • Ehōmaki (Lucky Direction Sushi Roll) February 2 (Mon) and February 3 (Tue), 15:00–16:30 — Lobby Special Venue
    Ehōmaki served free of charge (limited quantity).
    This year's lucky direction is "south-southeast." May your wishes come true.
  • Valentine's Day February 13 (Fri) and February 14 (Sat), 15:00–16:30 — Lobby Special Venue
    Welcome chocolates (limited quantity).
    A small Valentine's gift to soothe the weariness of travel.

  • White Day March 13 and March 14, 15:00–16:30 — Lobby Special Venue
    Welcome chocolates (limited quantity).
    Happy White Day! A small token of our appreciation.

  • Kahoku Golf & Hotel Sekia Joint Event: "15th Hotel Sekia Cup" Scheduled April 13 (Mon). An annual event — enjoy your golf. Plenty of prizes and a raffle drawing.
  • "New Start Discount" to Celebrate New School & Preschool Enrollment April 4 (Sat), April 5 (Sun), April 11 (Sat), April 12 (Sun) — Grande Sekia Lunch Buffet
    10% off the group total for parties with new school or preschool enrollees.
  • Rediscover the Appeal of Vegetables! A seasonal vegetable seminar & full-course lunch with a Vegetable Sommelier Pro.

    Upgraded children's menu at the kids' corner!

  • Tuna Festival (tentative name) — Reservation Required Scheduled June 14 (Sun)
    Live tuna cutting. Savor fresh-cut tuna.
    Also enjoy Western and Chinese dishes and desserts in buffet style.
  • Father's Day Event: "All Alcoholic Drinks Half Off" June 20 (Sat) and June 21 (Sun) — Grande Sekia Lunch Buffet
    All alcoholic beverages half price — whether with all-you-can-drink or by the glass!

  • Tanabata Decorations June 27 (Sat) – July 5 (Sun). Children (elementary school and younger) who write a wish strip and hang it on the bamboo will receive a shaved-ice voucher.
  • Doyō no Ushi no Hi (Midsummer Eel Day) July 25 (Sat) and July 26 (Sun). Eel dishes added to the buffet lunch menu.
  • "Forest Pool" Pre-Opening July 11 (Sat) and July 12 (Sun); July 18 (Sat) – July 20 (Mon, holiday). Free admission for children elementary school age and younger.
  • "Forest Pool" Grand Opening July 21 (Tue) – July 31 (Fri). Splash and play in our pristine onsen-fed pool!
